I’m a huge fan of super heroes in comics, movies and TV, but there are those who aren’t content to live the caped lifestyle vicariously. Like Dave “Kick-Ass” Lizewski, the members of the Real Life Super Hero Project have decided to take matters into their own hands to make the world a better place. Calling their cause Creative Altruism, most of them have the good sense to save the day through activism and volunteer works, though MSNBC reports that there are a few whose good intentions are less than welcome.

Masked people at crime scenes is a recipe for disaster, Seattle police Detective Jeff Kappel said, noting that officers often arrive at chaotic scenes where they must quickly sort out suspects from victims and bystanders.

“Put yourself in our shoes,” he said. “… We don’t know who we’re dealing with when we show up.”

Personally, I think the cause is crazy awesome when it doesn’t interfere with actual law enforcement or needlessly endanger innocent bystanders, so check them out. Also keep an eye out for the documentary Superheroes, which premiered last month at the Slamdance film festival and may see wider distribution this summer.

The Official Star Wars Blog reports that you can watch construction of Lucasfilm’s Comic Con 2009 Pavillion on Flickr. The Pavillion will incorporate new imagery from season two of the Clone Wars series, featuring a gang of new and classic bounty hunters.

It’s great to know that we’ll be seeing Bossk again. Also, check out Entertainment Weekly for details on two of the new bounty hunters that will be introduced.

If you’re a gamer and you haven’t checked out The Guild yet, then maybe you should upgrade that Vectrex and start watching it. Season Two is coming to YouTube.

Last season, we watched Syd (Felicia Day of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along blog fame) deal with the unexpected arrival of the love-smitten Zaboo and the guild’s betrayal by one of their own. This season is a wild and hilarious mess, as signals cross back and forth: drunk and slutty moms, poker night with the nerds and a battle to the death with the motion capture stuntman for some of the most fearsome monsters in the game.

The series was previously released on Xbox Live, and the Season One and Season Two DVDs are available at Amazon for $10.99.

The folks behind Zombieland have sent word of some undead events they have planned for Comic Con.

This fall’s top anticipated horror-comedy film, Zombieland, will hit theatres on October 9th, but attendees to the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con Conference will get an early taste of what’s to come. Once on the convention floor, watch out for groups of sexy scandalously clad zombies who come baring free gifts. Additionally, Columbia Pictures has teamed up with Zombiewalk: San Diego to take over the streets of Downtown San Diego on the evening of Thursday, July 23rd. Comic-Con attendees will be invited to get “Zombified” for free with the help of a team of professional special effects makeup artists at the Sony Pictures Entertainment Booth (#4313) inside the San Diego Convention Center all day Thursday, July 23rd beginning at 10am.

SDCC’s Zombie population will take to the streets at 7:30pm. Participants in the Zombieland Zombiewalk will have the opportunity to score VIP Tickets to a Zombieland screening in their hometown, plus additional Zombieland merchandise.
